Accessibility statement
Accessibility at Shay Maz Aesthetics, Buffalo NY
We want this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.
Our standard
We aim for this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
What we’ve done
- Built the site with semantic HTML, a logical heading order and labeled navigation landmarks.
- Made every link, menu, button, form field and question list usable with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to main content” link.
- Checked text and buttons for sufficient color contrast against the dark background.
- Given meaningful images text alternatives, and marked decorative images so screen readers skip them.
- Labeled every contact-form field, marked required fields in text, and announced errors next to the field.
- Respected the “reduce motion” setting on your device (the homepage slideshow and animations stop) and allowed text to be resized up to 200%.
- Kept the map, the 360° tour and the payment calculator behind a button, so nothing loads or moves until you ask for it.
- Tested pages with automated tools, including Google Lighthouse and the W3C markup validator, and by hand with a keyboard.
Accessibility tools on this site
Use the Accessibility tools button (the round icon on every page, the link in the footer, or Alt+U) to adjust the site for you, with one-click profiles plus individual controls for text size, readable and dyslexia-friendly fonts, spacing, contrast, saturation, reading guides, cursor size, read-aloud and more. Your settings are remembered on your device only. These tools are a convenience; they don’t replace your own assistive technology, and the site is built to work without them.
Known limitations
- 360° tour: the tour can be explored with a mouse, touch, or the arrow and plus/minus keys. If you can’t use it, the studio is a single treatment room on the 2nd floor of Canal Club 62 with a treatment chair, a skincare station, product shelves and a laser.
- Third-party services: online booking (Jane), payment plans (Cherry) and the optional Google map are provided by other companies with their own accessibility policies. If any of them gives you trouble, call or text us and we’ll book or help you directly.
- Building access: the studio is on the 2nd floor. Please call or text before your visit if you need help with access, and ask about in-home Botox or mobile IV therapy.
